Recreating Aftershock
Project Inspiration
Aftershock is an immersive installation created specifically for Copenhagen Contemporary in Copenhagen, Denmark by American artist James Turrell. It is an ongoing installation installed on July 9th, 2022.
The installation exhibits a cycle of changing colored lights in various combinations. The lights and colors make the room’s boundaries ambiguous, creating a sense of disorientation and sensory overload as the brain attempts to perceive the endless field of color.
Based off of these drawings we found of the exhibition, I helped create a scale model to recreate the exhibition and propose new lighting designs for it
